Notes from FORTHCOMING Eremite LP reissue: http://eremite.com/album/mte-66 'a brief technical note: the couple minutes of 'channel warble' on side 'B' of unity is native to the source. the private press underground realm is not mo-fi. technical imperfection was the norm.'

With my copy the left channel on side 2 fades in and out periodically. The effect is pronounced when listening with headphones. It seems highly unlikely that this has been caused by post-manufacturing damage. Any insights or comments would be appreciated.

yes on my copy I can notice the same problem. Difficult to know if it have been caused during the recording or during the manufacturing. In the reissue that will be published soon by Eremite, Michael Hayler told me that the problem is still the same, I don't know if he had the master to reissue or if he had a copy. Fantastic afro-centric album by the way.
