Are you telling me that i cannot find an original UK or US lp on here exact when it came out?
Kardana
The USA one u came u nder Klein's control a vile cheap paste back sleeve matt finish scuffs and rubs easy the sleeve is gatefold and like the box and book UK one, carries a red apple logo, the vinyl is also graced with red labels sliced and whole, and like the UK one Don't Let Me Down is Missing easy to find

I have two copies of the book without the LPs they belonged to. Both have the title on the spine and are printed by Garrod and Lofthouse in England. Nevertheless, I noticed a small difference between them: one has the full credits printed on page 5, the other has the first part of the credits printed, but the credits for the lyrics are glued in on a separate piece of paper. Otherwise the credits are identical. Did anyone notice this before?

This is how the album was supposed to have been released in the De Agostini collection and it wasn't total let down and spoilt the otherwise excellent thought out collection, perhaps the tray book and outer slip card could be now printed and mailed out with a replacement red apple lp sleeve to make the collection correct and completeafter all we hadPlease Please Me Stereo Gold on Brown Parlophone labelsMagical Mystery Tour full Sterero B side with USA Capitol rainbow labels flyer and sheetwhat went wrong with this after being told it would indeed come with box and book!

THIS BOX SET IS THE MOST APPALLING DOG EXCREMENT KNOWN TO MANKIND. The music? Great! No problems there! Everyone should definitely own the single LP (with the Red Apple on the back) - as it is a great LP to own! But seriously who on earth would want to own an original box set???? It beggars belief. THE BOX SET CONSISTS OF:-1) The LP (record and cover!) - GREAT! But its all downhill from here.2) The Let It Be Book - Possibly the cheapest and nastiest made book I have ever seen from this era. Someone decided at the time to laminate (seriously?) the outer cover - so it is now always peeling. But WORST OF ALL whoever made this book obviously got the glue from from a nursery school and didn't even know how to hinge it properly! So because it wasnt 'double hinged' you can't actually open it without creasing the spine. And worst of all the glue is SO POOR, that if you open the book more than 45 degrees - pages will start to pop out of it! SO A BOOK YOU CAN'T READ AND CAN'T OPEN! EXCELLENT!3) Holding tray. Piece of paper that quickly looks nasty. If you can find a Mint one, you are scared to slide it in or out because it will crease at the earliest opportunity.4) Book holding tray. Must get the vote for the most pointless invention know to mankind. Doesn't 'hold' the book at all - and disintergrates at the slightest movement from the book. Great!5) Outer box - actually not terrible, but why open ended? Reader Digest and even EMI were already doing proper boxes - so why on earth was it made like this????SO IN SHORT - IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO SPEND £400-£600 ON ONE OF THESE BOX SETS - DON'T BOTHER. GET A SINGLE LP INSTEAD. UNLESS OF COURSE, YOU WANT A BOX SET THAT:-1) You can't access without serious risk of damage2) A book holder - that doesnt hold the book, and breaks at the slightest touch.3) A book you can't actually read because you will break it if you do!WHAT AN INCREDIBLE BOX SET.... NOT.Oh yes - and this box set NEVER came with a poster. Feel free you enjoy the myth and pay people huge sums if you like. But the Apple Advertising poster was put inside EVERY SINGLE Beatles LP on Parlophone AND Apple in 1970. It was never made for this box set at all. Of course, some were put inside it - but this was the same as any other Beatles Or Apple LP of this period. For example I found one in a 1 box Sgt Pepper on Parlophone just last week. So am I frantically buying a battered Let It be Box set to put this poster inside and rip people off? Er.... no. But others will. All the time. So BEWARE.

Yes, but what do you really, really think of it?

I have a version of LIB that I got in Ireland some time in the late 1970s (78 or 79). It's listed as an Apple record (PCS 7096, as usual), with a green Apple logo on rear sleeve, but the label is 70s-era Parlophone. The label and sleeve also state "Made in Gt Britain," but the label also confusingly states "Made in the Rep. of Ire." Matrix/runout is stamped YEX-773-3U (side A) and YEX-774-3U (side B). I don't see any UK reissues here that use the Parlophone label--was this unique to Irish pressings?

I have my Mum's copy (probably bought in Belfast around the time of release, where we're from - interestingly, at least to me, it has her maiden name written on it) and mine has YEX-773-3U so I was curious about that too. Interesting to know it might be specific to Irish copies.

Today I saw my bros' LIB, a swedish pressed album in red vinyl, with a booklet. He bought this in a shop and the clerk stated "it was a special edition". Anybody knows more about this? The LP-cover is a folded one, the label on the record is the "normal" Apple-logo, but the vinyl is bright red.
It's so easy
There appears to be 2 different versions of the book with U.K. pressing. The first run had no spine lettering and the pages were notoriously badly glued and often fell out even with light use. The second run had 'Get Back' on the spine and the pages were less prone to dropping out.

with the Apple Records ‎– AR 34001 version, did it include the poster and lyrics?

Let it be was bootlegged in large numbers, it will have the red apple with phil and Ronnie in the deadwax but look closely at the record label......you will notice blurred edges around the apple and the picture on the cover will be slightly blurry or slight discoloration to the picture.......it seems there are just as many let it be bootlegs as there are real let it be albums.

Let It Be went out of print in the USA around 1975; something to do with United Artists having the exclusive rights to distribute the album in the US until that time. Capitol could not be given that right until they bought out United Artists in the late 70's. The truly awful counterfeits started to pop up shortly after the LP went officially out of print in the US. When Wally did the re-cut in the late 70's, Capitol soon re-issued Let It Be (but no gate fold) and the counterfeits started to dwindle thereafter. Capitol also acquired previously unsold legit copies of AR-34001 from United Artists, and offered them to retailers at bargain prices. For a while one could spot both legit and counterfeit copies of AR-34001 in the cut out LP bins. Most counterfeit copies have a corner missing on the album cover or a punch mark. None of the legit AR-34001's received this treatment, which does include the unsold legit copies that re-appeared in the late 70's

The USA pressing with the "Phil and Ronnie" and "Bell Sound" stamps in the dead wax was issued with the red apple labels until late 1975, when all Apple label releases changed to having Capitol labels instead. The USA pressing never had a green apple on the sleeve or label. Sadly, unlike the UK version, the 1st pressing USA "red apple label" Let It Be LP is notorious for awful sound; when "Wally" at Capitol recut it in the late 1970s for the Purple Capitol label version, this was a HUGE sonic upgrade, though it still is not nearly as good as the 1970s British or German pressings. Phil Spector's production work is controversial, but after having heard the 2 versions of the un-released "Get Back" album produced by Glyn Johns, and the 2003 "Naked" version, I far prefer the Spector version EXCEPT for his awful treatment of "The Long and Winding Road" He RUINED what was one of the most beautiful songs on the LP with his overdubs during mixing of the "heavenly" choir, strings, horns, etc on "The Long and Winding Road". But his use of the "live" Rooftop versions of songs when possible, his "crisp and tight" EQ/mix of Two Of Us, the tasteful horns on the actual Let It Be and I Me Mine songs, and above all his stunning mixdown and production work on "For You Blue" (GREAT song) make the Phil Spector version a must have. I LIKE "Naked" but would have to own BOTH to be happy. The "Let It Be..Naked" version sounds dry/sterile to me; it doesn't "breathe". For anyone looking for audiophile sound, the UK and German pressings are consistently the best. The mid 1970s British Let It Be LP with YEX 773-3U/YEX-774-3U matrix stamps has reference quality audio.
Survivors
I have a 1st USA pressing and the sound is perfectly acceptable. Though not quite the equal of a UK or US Purple Capitol Wally pressing, I find the sound just fine. Are you sure it is not the sound of an AR-34001 counterfeit you are dwelling? Those do sound pretty blurry and lackluster.
Agalas
Yes I agree with everything said, but one thing. The "live" songs were in fact just studio versions with, with rooftop dialogue added. There is a you tube of most of the roof top concert.
Grokinos
I also just purchased a 2nd pressing of Let It Be at a local antique shop. Has the Ronnie and Phil and the Bell Sound in the run out groove. Red Apple Records logo on rear of album and the Red Apple album. The red stickers were used to signify that it was an Apple Records release (c. 1970) and not a United Artists release since UA had the rights since this was the soundtrack to the movie. Later releases had the usual green Apple stickers.Personally, I prefer the Let It Be Naked versions of these songs since they are without the Phil Spector 'wall of sound' crap.
CrazyDemon
I have LIB with a red Apple logo on the back sleeve, but it differs from any other pressings I've seen on the label, as it doesn't have "mfd. uk" or 33 1/3 on the left side, and has NCB written on the right side. It's natural for me to think this refers to Nordic Copyright Bureau, which licenses records in Scandinavia. It's not the official logo, wherein the "C" is a copyright symbol.Anyone have information on this copy?
