Good sounding pressing in beautiful, soft touch coating, gatefold jacket. Really long breaks between every song. Finally on vinyl!

I ordered my copy from Third Man Records and the spindle holes were too small, so the label has radial tears on it. No other LPs from TMR have this sizing defect.

Bought my copy factory sealed. It crackels throughout and is not plane. Same as with the "Acoustic recordings" (in this case I gave up after the third returned copy). What a mess!

Probably because they wanted the best possible sound. The more grooves you put into a record the more the sound quality will decrease. That's why the 12" single was invented.

Album feels much more top-heavy now. Ugly As I Seem is one of my favorites on the record, now there is very little reason for me to listen to the 2nd disc-- which, as Jonathan said, why two discs?

does your copy have cool notes etched into vinyl at end of pressing? like: "gap band makes me want to do fests" on one side?? all sides have notes etched into vinyl - nice touch. great sound and workmanship quality too. it would be sweet to find out if yours does not have the above quote and they were all different - that'd make a good thread.

All Third Man Records releases have some little quip eteched into the area surrounding the sticker. All discogs listings for their records should also say what the quip is for each release.

Not a great press. Persistent crackle in the right channel, as well as some nasty sibilance (such as on B1). It's like, hey Third Man Records, how about just focusing on getting us a good sounding pressing rather than clever etchings etc.That being said... on tracks where those issues aren't apparent, it's a pretty nice sound. Eh, 4 stars
